24-Hour Crisis Services
WellSpring of Alton, IL provides crisis intervention services to adults in Madison County via a 24-hour hotline (618) 465-4388. Individuals are assessed via telephone by a mental health professional. If necessary, appropriate measures are taken to begin a psychiatric hospitalization. If the individual is not experiencing a psychiatric emergency then referrals are made for other services.
Community Support Services for Adults and Children
A therapeutic support program where services are provided in natural settings such as the home or community. The program builds on strengths. You will set goals and find resources and support.
Individual and Family Counseling
Licensed professional counselors or social workers focus on problem identification and help you to develop solutions and skills.
Psychiatric and Medical Services
Working in consultation with our staff, board certified psychiatrists will assess and evaluate needs, prescribing medication to assist with recovery. Licensed nurses provide medication education, evaluation and monitoring.
Residential and Housing Services for Adults
WellSpring offers a continuum of housing options to meet different needs. Group homes serve adults in setting that is staffed 24 hours per day. The goal is for residents to achieve independent living. Theodoro Place provides permanent supportive housing and services to 12 adults who have been homeless. WellSpring’s independent apartments offer permanent housing for single adults, with access to services in the community.

Services for Families and Children
Screening, Assessment and Support Services (SASS)
Crisis intervention services provided to any child living in Madison County at risk of a psychiatric hospitalization. The goal is to avoid a child’s psychiatric hospitalization if possible. Services are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Access SASS services by calling the CARES line at (800) 345-9049.
Substance Abuse Services
WellSpring offers outpatient counseling for adults recovering from substance use problems and Medication Assisted Recovery Services (MARS) are offered to adults who are addicted to opiates. WellSpring operates the only two MARS clinics in all of Southern Illinois.
